this is the first of a series of painting i did in memory of my childhood friend who died when i was 7.
this is jeff rosay series #1: with every spring comes a flood of memories.

no, have a sketchbook of ideas...it is only #1. i plan on doing a show just on this subject....but it is not about the death of the girl. it is the little boy in the photo on the floor. the girl represents me...and my whole class, back in 1st grade. He died on may 7, 1963....44 years ago this month. he was murdered and it was a terrible thing for us all. many class mates have been thinking about it and emailing each other. i hope to do far better pieces...but this was the first. thanks for you comment.... it inspirs me to do something more... pls share ideas if you have them

thanks for the fav..... it is a series i always wanted to do, but never knew how to approach it. i still don't know if i am going about it in the right way, but i am happy to be attempting it. thanks again

When I was in third grade one of my best friends died. He was a boy I loved and admired and it was something terrible. Also, he comes to my memory and I feel a sweet sensation of the peace and children's love I experimented when I was playing and talking with him -what else we could do?-. It's an exquisite sensation because I turn back over the years and become a girl again.

thank you for this comment, as well as your other one too. it is true, that painting is not "the best i can do" for jeff, and your comment is helping me to delve deeper into my emotions. this is 44 years later... it is hard to put it into art. pls give me any other thoughts you have on a way to express these feelings through painting.

sorry to hear that you too have a similar memory as mine. it is a sad thing to carry these memories all our lives. perhaps we will one day collaborate on a piece of art, you as model, me as painter.
