Welcome to DA! I can't wait to see more of your work uploaded. A definite fav and watch.

I love the layering you have done here. There is a lot going on in every inch as far as color goes and it all works very well. You have great tonal development in the cloth too. Many tend to miss getting the good development in the miodtones that you have here. I regognize a few of the colors I see, but there are some others I don't. Just curious; what palette did you use?

Really nice lighting of your subject too.

this is a very beautiful painting. I've never seen watercolors like this before, it looks so real.

thanks so much. i use a watercolor block and i layer my washes. i seldom use heavy paint, but always light washes. i usually have 4 or 5 paintings going at once, so i can bounce around from painting to painting. some of my favorite colors to use are naples yellow, manganese blue, burnt sienna, and oxide green. thank you for your comments and your work is quite impressive too. keep in touch. i am adding more now.

This is lovely in all reapects, composition and execution. I'm guessing that you use cold press paper and that you take advantage of granularity/mottling? It is a beautiful effect.

yes, i work in layers. i never rush. i use a watercolor block, winsor newton colors. i usually work on 4 or 5 pieces at once and rotate, to give drying time to my washes. thanks for looking
